Pravrajika Brahmaprana has been a nun of the Vedanta Society of Southern California since January 1973. In 2008 she was posted as the resident minister at the Ramakrishna Vedanta Society of North Texas. Baptized and raised in the Episcopal Church, she first learned about Vedanta in the late 1960s, through a Comparative Religions course at Occidental College in Los Angeles. After visiting the Vedanta Temple in Hollywood, she later joined the Vedanta Convent in Santa Barbara, where she spent most of her monastic life.

Shatavadhani R. Ganesh is a practitioner of the art of avadhana, a polyglot, an author in Sanskrit andKannada and an extempore poet in multiple languages. He has performed more than 1000 avadhanas, in Kannada, Sanskrit,Telugu, and Prakrit. He is known for extempore composition of poetry (āśukavita) during these performances, and even of chitrakavya. He is the only Śatāvadhāni from Karnataka.. He has so far written three books dealing with his Shatavadhanas, Shatavadhana Sharade, Shatavadhana Srividye and ” Sataavadhaana shaashvati” so as to groom future avadhanis, besides his D. Litt thesis The Art of Avadhana in Kannada and the forthcoming Avadhana Sahasra.
